Glossier is in Toronto and they are painting the town millennial pink.

Last month, the your-skin-but-better company announced shipping to Canada, and now they are holding a pop-up shop in Toronto. Glossier’s arrival coincided with TIFF, so they decided to get in on the cinematic action by hosting a screening of Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere on Sept. 12. Tickets were available online on a first-come, first-serve basis and it is rumoured that they sold out in under 10-minutes.

An average looking building deep into Queen Street West was transformed into a dreamy showroom with sheer pink drapes, pink couches and mirrors that read, “You look good.” A steady stream of eager women – all with dewy skin and rosy cheeks – have been lining up every day since the shop opened, but the movie night was a little bit more exclusive.

As the guests arrived, they were greeted with drink tickets so they could enjoy complimentary rosé during the screening. The parking lot was completely transformed into a movie-in-the-park-esque environment. Pink blankets topped with red pillows and snacks were spread evenly in rows across a roll-out, faux grass field.

The laid-back fashion of the company translates in the system of the pop-up shop as well. Several tables are scattered across the showroom, displaying samples of the products to play with and test out. When customers decide what they wanted to pick up, an employee – wearing a baby pink mechanic’s jumpsuit – takes down the order, gathers it, and customers pick it up when it is ready. If you are planning on checking out the pop-up while Glossier is in town, just remember, it is credit card only.

The Glossier pop-up store opened Friday September 8 and runs until Thursday September 14. It is located at 1056 Queen Street West and is open from 12 – 8 p.m. daily.
