Over the past few months, Absolut Vodka has been involved in a wide range of initiatives for the LGBTQ+ community.

From throwing a First Thursday party at the Art Gallery of Ontario at the beginning of June to kickoff Pride Month, to hosting a panel on progressive nightlife with notable DJs, artists and advocates speaking up about creating safe spaces, Absolut has been donating all proceeds from these events for Rainbow Railroad, a Canadian organization that helps LGBTQ+ individuals find a path to safety from persecution in their home countries. This is in addition to a $20,000 donation to the charity.

To celebrate Pride and its ongoing campaign, Absolut released an exclusive Rainbow Edition bottle. The rainbow flag, represented on the Absolut Rainbow Edition bottle, represents the diverse voices of the LGBTQ+ community coming together, celebrating difference in unity. To honour the rainbow flag and Pride, Absolut has also released three Pride-themed cocktails: Fholston Para, Kween’s Chalice, Summer Lime Mule and Disco Spritz.

With Canada Day approaching and Pride Month coming to an end, we decided to share the recipes for 4 delicious Absolut cocktails perfect for end-of-pride parties or ringing in July with friends and family.

Recipes:

Fhloston Paradise:

This is the perfect summer cocktail with everyone’s favourite fruit – watermelon! It’s perfectly in season and is amazing when mixed with vodka. Create a new fresh favourite today with this simple recipe:

  • 1 oz Absolut vodka
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 2 cubes fresh watermelon
  • mint

Muddle the fresh watermelon cubes in the bottom of the cup. Add Absolut vodka, lime juice, simple syrup, and then stir. Fill to the top with ice and finish with a sprig of mint.

Kween’s Chalice:

This drink is perfect for anyone who wants something sweet and citrusy. This tropical creation not only tastes amazing, but looks beautiful when served with fresh mint sprigs! Impress your guests with this addition to your serving menu:

  • 1 oz Absolut Lime,
  • 3oz Watermelon Juice,
  • 0.5oz Lime,
  • Mint sprig garnish, over ice.
  • Chasers/Juice concepts have Watermelon Limeade, so it would just be a pour & go cocktail.

Summer Lime Mule:

Everyone loves a moscow mule, but a summer lime mule? Definitely the new drink of the summer. Spin an Absolut twist on this classic drink with this recipe:

  • 1oz absolut lime
  • ¼ oz lime juice
  • ginger beer to fill
  • lime wheel
  • ice
  • How to mix: Fill a highball glass with ice cubes. Add Absolut Lime and lime juice. Top up with ginger beer. Garnish with lime.

Disco Spritz

This drink is definitely for the refined palate. Light and simple with tonic water and absolut, elderflower makes this a sophisticated choice for any outdoor dinner party! Check out this recipe:

  • 1 Part Absolut Vodka
  • 3 Parts Tonic Water
  • ¼ Part Elderflower Cordial
  • 1 Wedge Lemon
  • How to mix: Fill a highball glass with ice cubes. Add all ingredients. Garnish with lemon.
