There’s nothing better than seeing the world’s industries move towards sustainability and supporting the green movement — You can help too by selecting some green beauty products to add to your makeup collection.

I am obsessed with green beauty products. It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come with embracing conventional beauty product alternatives. In addition, a lot of your favourite brands have embraced this trend and create products that support the natural beauty community. If you are thinking of making a switch, you must be overwhelmed with the number of brands out there. Where do you start? What brands are comparable to the brands that may not be considered natural or green beauty? Believe it or not, it’s not as simple as you think to find a mascara that’s just as good as our beloved timeless Max Factor Mascara. Fortunately for you, I did some research, tried a few products that are must-have natural makeup brands.

Here are a few natural makeup brands you need to know about:

Annemarie Borlind

If you’ve ever tried natural mascara, you will notice that it doesn’t stay in place. You’ll always find little flakes  coming off your face. You might also notice that you don’t get that lush full volume effect you’re looking fo, but instead get that unwanted clump look. I found a great mascara by Annemarie Borlind, a brand founded in 1959 that uses Black Forest deep spring water free of chemicals and chlorine in their products. The Long Lasting Volume Mascara gives you full lush lashes without any residue falling onto your face.

Kjaer Weiss

If you’ve ever made a trip to The Detox Market, you’ve probably seen Kjaer Weiss. This brand is definitely a natural beauty brand favourite. It was created by Danish-born makeup artist Kirsten Kjaer. Her goal was to create a luxury beauty brand with clean ingredients. You will notice that although this is a natural makeup brand, it’s just as good as the luxury brands you are currently using. The Cream Eyeshadows is great for achieving a natural makeup look along with the Cream Blush.

Noto

Multi-purpose makeup is what girl-on-the-go needs. Noto was founded by makeup artist Gloria Noto. Her goal is to create a high performing makeup and skincare brand that’s free of chemicals and toxins. A must-have is the Oscillate – Multi-Benne Stain Pot. It can be used as a lip or cheek stain. A few notable ingredients are Jojoba Oil, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Vitamin E, Shea Butter and Rosehip Oil. If you are in Canada you can get your hands on this amazing brand from online Canadian retailer From Jess & Jules.
