Last night, one of the biggest nights in the music industry took place as you might know. The 2019 Billboard Music Awards took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with notable attendees being the most recognized industry artists and music executives of our era.

We’re not surprised to hear that Toronto native rapper Drake — “Yes…indeed” got all the attention at the event. The 32-year-old broke an all time record and is now known for having won the most Billboard Music Awards ever. After taking home 12 awards, Drake’s total number of wins is now at a whopping 27 awards.

The awards ranged from Top Rap Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album, Top Streaming Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, and Top Artist. It’s safe to say that Drake has remarkably made an imprint in the hip hop industry and music history in general — primarily with his latest album, Scorpion. The album made waves and shook the music industry with 7 singles reaching the top 20 on the U.S Billboard Hot 100, and 3 of them reaching number 1 — Nice for What, In My Feelings, and God’s Plan. The album performed extremely well commercially and was also nominated for album of the year at the Grammy awards this year.

Well deserved Drizzy! The Toronto rapper is always coming out with new hits and certainly does an excellent job of keeping his fans hyped up for new music, since he really never does takes a break.

With his consistency, we’re sure it won’t be long until another great album gets released.
