Glossier is a cult beauty brand that can be credited for bringing the minimalistic look to the masses.
With Glossier’s extreme success the brand has decided to expand into a sub-brand, a sibling with a different but complimenting concept. This brand is Glossier Play which describes itself as “a brand of dialed-up beauty extras.”
The initial launch consists of 6 products, 4 makeup products and 2 tools. This consists of liquid highlighter called niteshine, eye liner called colorslide, lip lacquer called vinyl lip, a cream glitter called glitter gelee as well as a silicone brush and a sharpener. Although these products may not sound extremely innovative, when comparing the range to Glossier the difference in the brands themselves is very apparent.
This sub-brand brand doesn’t have the same minimalist look and is perfect for supplementing looks done with the original range. The colorslides come in 14 different and exciting colours, ranging from mustard to eggshell blue and all the exciting colours in between. Another standout product is the glitter gelee, a gel glitter that comes in four fun shades with different types of glitters within each one. This product is meant to be reflecting and is a perfect addition to a night out look for a chic pop of glitter.
All of these products are perfect for playing with makeup and are an extension that we never knew we needed from Glossier but are so happy we have. The imagery for this new brand is enough to sell us on the products with their etherial cool girl looks, but the products are a must try!
