Perry Ellis has been dropping ‘90s inspired streetwear looks from their archive and they are Justin Bieber-approved.

Bieber was spotted wearing an oversized red parka from the Perry Ellis Capsule I collection in January. Now even more ‘90s inspired looks are available after the recent launch of the Capsule II collection.

Perry Ellis has had a strong legacy in American fashion history since its establishment in the late ‘70s. The brand has always been passionate about American style, and has adapted along side cultural trends. Although it has roots in everything from golf apparel, to knits, to red carpet looks, the capsule collections focus on iconic streetwear designs. Using its own archives as inspiration, Perry Ellis successfully dropped another line of streetwear staples that ooze authenticity.

The Capsule II collection is a unisex line featuring nylon tracksuits, puffer jackets, washed denim, crew necks and other nods to the current resurgence of the ‘90s streetwear aesthetic. While the first collection was a direct reproduction of the original designs, the second drop features reinterpretations of the colour and cut of the clothing. The black, red, white and heather grey colourways are one of the major changes that made the line fit into modern trends, without loosing any of the retro vibe.

“With Capsule II, we maintained the DNA of the original pieces and took it up a notch with updates that reinforce the rich history of heritage applications and branding,” said Michael Maccari, the creative director of Perry Ellis.

The classic tracksuit now comes in black and white; the original rugby polo has been switched from a faded purple to a bold red; and logos from different eras have been mixed and matched onto original designs.

There will be three more capsule collections released later in the year. Shop the collection by heading over to Perry Ellis America’s website.
