It’s hiking season which means you’ll need a pair of shoes your feet will thank you for later. If you’re looking for a sustainable version to your go to sneakers, Reformation may have an answer for you. The well-known eco-friendly fashion brand launched cute summer shoes and a fall-ready collection of ballet flats, boots and stylish heels.

But their latest drop is simply game-changing.

The brand collaborated with the well-known sneaker brand New Balance, known for its impeccable comfort. According to Reformation Founder & CEO Yael Afalo, shoes were always the goal, but the company hesitated given the heavy environmental footprint.

“Americans alone buy over 300 million pairs of shoes every year, most of which end up in landfills,” according to Refinery29. “With New Balance, we saw a huge opportunity to push the boundaries of innovation and educate consumers about the impact we all have on our planet.”

The collection leverages Reformation’s expertise in sustainability to reinvent classic New Balance styles, including the 574 and X 90 sneakers using eco-friendly materials like post-consumer recycled polyester in the linings, laces and labels.

They will also use chrome free suede and will feature shoe inserts made from a combination of EVA foam and BLOOM algae, which helps clean the environment while reducing the amount of fossil fuels traditionally used in shoe manufacturing. They will then finish off the prints with soy-based inks.

The collection will include 5 styles available for purchase from Reformation (online and all retail store locations including the U.S., Canada and U.K.) and New Balance (online doe U.S., Europe and Japan/all flagship stores.)

The price will range from $125-$170 CAD.

Unlike New Balance’s sporty look, this collaboration added a more creative touch with pastel shades and neon hues throughout the sneaker. Grab a pair today and so you can hike in both comfort and style! Shop the line at www.thereformation.com.
